The seminary of this mosque that was the remains of the balatlar kilsesi (in actual a roman temple) was converted into a Byzantine church. It also has some traces of the temple of Serapis.
The ruins of cezayirli Ali pasha mosque are also present in this town. It was built in the year 1297.
