FETHIYE ATTRACTIONS

WHILE YOU’RE THERE ...

Kayaköy
A relic of the area’s more recent history is the so-called ghost town of ‘Kayaköy’, a village of some 2000 houses, cottages and churches, which was abandoned by its Greek population in 1923, when they were relocated. Kayaköy is likely to attract lots of attention this year as it is the setting for Louis de Berniere’s new novel.

Saklikent
Saklikent, the ‘hidden city’, is a spectacular mountain gorge, where cold, fresh water rushes down from the mountains through a narrow opening. Wooden walkways have been constructed for visitors to marvel at this natural wonder, and restaurants serve fresh fish. A refreshing way to spend a long, hot day!

Cruising & Diving
Fethiye’s charming harbour is the starting point for a ‘blue cruise’ taking in the deserted bays, coves and islands of this beautiful stretch of coastline. For those who prefer the views under the water, Fethiye has also become an important centre for scuba diving and there is plenty to attract those at all levels, from complete beginner to professional diver. Adventure Sports There are watersports available from Ölüdeniz and Calis beach but those seeking real thrills will undoubtedly want to try paragliding from the Babadag mountains, enjoying stunning views during the descent before landing close to Ölüdeniz beach.
