take your notebook laptop computer with you this must be the
best option for you.

you just need to pay and use it. Modern luxury hotels also
provide Ethernet wired internet access.
Internet in Turkey is called TurNet. It is a service of Turkish
Telecom. TurNet is an Internet structure connecting three cities
with 2-Mbps connections. Its international connection with the
US Sprint is 512-Kbps. The ISPs or Internet service providers
are controlled and monitored by Turkish Telecom. The
international hindrances do not allow these ISPs to compete with
one another in a healthy fashion. This monopoly is being
supported by, Global One as UUNET, MCI and AT&T are unable to
operate in Turkey.
Currently, all the universities of Turkey have Internet
connections as almost fifty ISPs provide Internet services to
them through TurNet. There are a few other companies who are
attempting to supersede the TurNet monopoly with the use of
satellites. But Turkish Telecom does not allow them to succeed.
All developing countries should understand the significance of
this scenario. It underlines the fact that when authorities
fathom the power and strength of the Internet, they will try to
exercise control on that power as best as they can. The
authorities not only intend to control the power of the
Internet, they in turn intend to control the manner in which the
Internet-using population lives. Thus the Internet has provided
the people of Turkey and the entire world, for that matter, a
chance to decide whether they want to be ruled and controlled
the way they are. As the people of Turkey see on the Internet
what life in a developed country means, they can question and
revolt the life they have been living.
A drawback, that an Internet user, in a developing country like
Turkey, faces, is the spread of wrong information. Some try to
mislead novice users by pitching them about solutions and
results that are practically impossible for the Internet to
achieve. The maximum confusion is created about the security of
online financial transactions. A software marketer, claiming
that his company’s product can make the Internet absolutely
safe, is nothing but a liar. Similarly, an expert, claiming that
usage of credit card on the Internet is extremely unsafe, is
also not completely correct. The Istanbul chapter of the
Internet Society attempts to educate the Turkish masses about
the truths, facts, dos and don’ts of the Internet. They
encourage the Turkish public to use the Internet, by trying to
keep it as a free medium. Enabling the users to know about the
Internet’s pros and cons, this chapter wishes to keep the users
safe and worry-free. They ensure that the users are aware of
their rights and thus can use them whenever required. They also
help the users in defending their rights.
